Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our department working in the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital Paddington.
We have 2 elective operating theatres and 1 dedicated emergency theatre for obstetrics in which you will further your career and enhance your skills. We perform a wide and varied range of elective surgery; this includes General Surgery, Bariatric, Orthopaedics, Plastics/ Cosmetics, ENT, Vascular, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Emergency Surgery and Major Trauma for West London. This is an exciting time to join St Mary's to further your career and enhance your skills.
You will have significant post registration perioperative experience, which includes the supervision of junior nursing staff. Acting as a role model you will be able to influence and motivate your colleagues to deliver excellent care, which optimises our patient's experience. You will be able to work cohesively with multi-disciplinary teams, whilst taking decisions and prioritising work specific to your responsibilities. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will work with the Theatre Coordinator and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of care and staff development, as part of the theatre team.
- In addition, he/she will provide specialist care and/or support and deputise for the Team Leader/Clinical Coordinator in the management of the clinical area.This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in emergency or unforeseen situations.
