Job summary
The Tissue Viability Service at UHB Community provides expert wound management, clinical support and advice to staff caring for patients with a wide range of tissue integrity problems.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse with a passion for wound care to join our team. The successful applicant would participate in delivering the team's strategy and improving staff knowledge and skills in pressure ulcer prevention and complex wound management.
The applicant should have advanced communication skills, be willing to teach and be able to support teams and clinical areas in the introduction of new practices.
The core service days and hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, the successful candidate will be required to work across all the UHB Community sites. This vacancy is part time, for 30 hours per week.
Being a car driver and having access to a car is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job
Provide specialist nursing advice and support for patients, carers and staff
Provide formal and informal education to staff and patients
Devise and deliver a range of educational and training packages
Support allocated Clinical Delivery Group within the organisation
Assist with clinical development in maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, quality assurance and monitoring within the service
Assist with service audits/activities
Assist with monitoring standards of clinical practice, audit, research and teaching to continually improve standards of care and patient experience
Ensure safe and effective clinical practice
Enhance patient experience
Ensure effective delivery of service/organisational objectives Assist with the development/update of policies and guidelines
Key Skills:
Post registration knowledge, experience and qualification
Tissue Viability knowledge
Career /professional development
Teaching/mentorship experience
Working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment
Willingness to achieve competence in a range of clinical skills and expanded practices
Evidence of change management
Ability to assess plan, implement and evaluate care
Ability to work under pressure and adapt behaviour
