Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced, and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our established Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist team. The Colorectal CNS team is a well established team who are committed to delivering a service across the Merseyside region and beyond.

You will act in the role of expert in the colorectal services as an autonomous practitioner. we expect that you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients navigating complex colorectal pathways, including benign and malignant diseases.

Main duties of the job

Act as the key worker, providing an accessible and responsive point of contact for colorectal patients, families, and carers.

Plan and implement comprehensive, evidence-based care utilising advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Provide integrated care that provides clinical, psychological, and physical care for patients and families throughout the treatment journey Attend the colorectal MDT and coordinate MDT pathways and complex treatment plans developed by the MDT.

Ensure excellent record keeping and timely communication between all members of the MDT and allied health professionals.

Job description

The Specialist Clinician / Team Leader will act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the Multi-Professional team, patients and carers within their Speciality Service.The post holder will take overall responsibility to develop the specialist area of practice in partnership with other members of the speciality team (General Manager, Lead Clinician, Matron, Service Manager etc) will work collaboratively to develop services and quality of care delivered.The post holder will be expected to provide first-line management and lead a team of specialist clinicians.This will be achieved through the core dimensions of the role, clinical practice leadership, acting as the patient advocate and through audit and education.The post holder will carry responsibility for either a defined case load or offering highly specialist service advise this will include setting standards of care, the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.The post holder will contribute to achieving the objectives of the clinical service group / speciality corporate objectives and work within the clinical governance framework.They will lead the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the speciality.
