Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Autism Assessor to join the Ealing Adult Autism Assessment Service. We are looking for a motivated and flexible registered clinician with experience of working with autistic people and an interest in developing specialist knowledge in autism diagnosis.

The successful candidate will support the assessment of adults referred for possible autism, including completing and analysing screening questionnaires, undertaking diagnostic assessments using ADOS-2 and/or other appropriate assessment tools, and contributing to multidisciplinary clinical decision-making. You will provide feedback following assessments, produce high-quality clinical reports and contribute to post-diagnostic support. The role involves working closely with autistic adults, their families, the multidisciplinary team and other health professionals.

Main duties of the job

The Autism Assessor will support the delivery of diagnostic assessments for adults referred to the Ealing Adult Autism Assessment Service. Duties will include completing and analysing screening questionnaires, gathering relevant clinical information and undertaking autism assessments using ADOS-2 and/or other appropriate assessment tools. The post holder will contribute to multidisciplinary discussions to determine assessment outcomes, provide feedback to individuals and families, and produce high-quality clinical reports. You will also provide appropriate recommendations, onward referrals and signposting, contribute to post-diagnostic support, maintain accurate clinical records and participate in service evaluation, audit and continuous improvement.
