PaNDR (Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service) is the dedicated neonatal and paediatric retrieval service for the East of England. Our neonatal and paediatric teams work within their specialist areas while collaborating closely to deliver seamless, high-quality critical care. Together, we provide expert stabilisation and retrieval for neonates and children up to 16 years of age, supporting them both at referring hospitals and during ambulance transfers to specialist care centres.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to expand your advanced critical care skills, working within a small, highly skilled team to stabilise and transport some of the sickest children and young people in the region. You'll also play an active role in outreach education, developing and delivering learning alongside the MDT to healthcare teams across the East of England.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to infants requiring emergency and elective transfer. Team working ability and leadership skills will be used to ensure safe and effective delivery of the service for staff, parents and children according to the CUH Trust values and behaviours.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme, including transport-specific competencies and specialist equipment training. Ongoing professional development is embedded into our culture, with daily teaching sessions and regular simulation training to keep your skills sharp and current. You'll rotate across three teams, delivering a 24/7 service, 365 days a year.

Internal applicants on permanent contracts can apply for this post as a secondment. For secondments you must have the approval of your line manager before applying. If you are an internal applicant currently on a fixed term contract you are able to apply for this as a fixed term position.
