Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and proactive team player who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will join the General Practice, and Pharmacy and Optometry teams to support the delivery and development of services that make a positive difference to patient care.

The post is 22.5 hours per week and will support both the General Practice and Pharmacy and Optometry teams. The base location is Stella House, although we are open to reconsider this on successful appointment. However, attendance at Stella House on Tuesdays is required where this falls within the postholder's working pattern, with remaining hours able to be worked in line with the hybrid policy, including remote and flexible working options. The GPOD team works across the ICB, therefore there will be a requirement to travel to different locations as needed.

Main duties of the job

  • The role will be critical in ensuring that the ICB effectively commissions and contracts all services it is responsible for, ensuring ongoing service evaluation and re-design as appropriate in line with the critical functions of an Integrated Care Board.
  • The role will work as part of a multi-professional team to drive forward the vision of the ICB through the three identified groups, working closely with Nursing, Medical and Finance colleagues to support teams to work collaboratively and effectively towardsshared goals.
  • The role will provide a key supporting function to others in the team via contributing their knowledge and skills in respect commissioning and contract management.
  • The role will provide project support to the sector across all areas of focus.
  • The role will support the ICB's priorities for service reform; ensuring they are effectively delivered to time and budget with outcomes which improve patient care and ensure clinical effectiveness and value for money.
  • The role will support the sharing of best practice and evidence-based practice that is at the heart of the service redesign process.

Job description

  • To support the sector team in the delivery or a range of work associated with contracting and commissioning.
  • To support the planning, delivery, and monitoring of a programme of work linking with colleagues across the sector team and wider groups as required.
  • To support a wider portfolio of work across the sector which may include leading some contracts with providers
  • To provide written reports and presentations to relevant groups, which can include staff at all levels as well as external partners
  • To manage a portfolio of contracts within the allocated area.
  • To operate within the policies set by the ICB
