The role is to provide high-quality patient centered general medical services to the registered population of Gosforth. It also includes clinical oversight and support of GP registrars and medical students, contributing to the practice's long-standing training and educational responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Provide face to face, telephone, and online consultations
Deliver high quality acute, chronic, and preventative care
Undertake routine and urgent clinical assessments
Participate in home visiting (shared equitably within the clinical team)
Review and act upon pathology results, correspondence, and clinical reports
Complete referrals, fit notes, and associated clinical documentation in a timely manner
Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and long-term condition management
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including ARRS staff
Support training, supervision, audit, and quality improvement activity where appropriate
Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
Comply with GMC standards, clinical governance requirements, and practice policies
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound knowledge of primary care medicine and NHS systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical decision making and risk management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job description
You will be joining a supportive, friendly and well organised GP practice to provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the registered diverse population of Gosforth, working as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team in accordance with GMC standards, NHS regulations, and practice policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary medical care including consultations, examinations, and treatment planning
- Undertake surgery consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and online as appropriate)
- Manage acute and chronic conditions
- Conduct home visits where required
- Participate in duty doctor / on-call rota as agreed
- Review and action clinical correspondence and test results in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
- Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in line with local and national guidance
- Engage in clinical governance, QOF, audit, and quality improvement activity
- Overseeing of GP Registrars and medical students
- Contribute to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
- Work collaboratively with the wider PCN and community services
- Participate in appraisal, revalidation, and mandatory training

Roseworth Surgery is a friendly, forward thinking practice based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, with a list size of approx 6,000. You will be supported by experienced partners and a salaried GP, working alongside a conscientious and skilled nursing team and a professional patient focused reception team, with strong support from the practice management and medical secretary.
We are a long-standing and well-established GP training practice, with a strong commitment to education, supervision and professional development. Support is available for appraisals and revalidation
