We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Bullingdon - a Category B male remand and resettlement prison near Bicester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment across primary care, mental health and substance misuse including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more!    Hours: This is a full time role, an average of 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts between Monday and Sunday. Potential shift patterns are; 0730 - 1730 / 0730 - 1930 / 1930 - 0730 (you must be prepared to work any of these shifts on rata basis).   Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of up to £31,789 per annum   How will we support you? Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
