Job summary
Reporting to the Group Head of People (Employee Resolutions and Advisory Service) the postholder will line manage and mentor Senior ER Advisors, ER Advisors and ER Administrators teamto manage, and ensure the provision of a cohesive, standardised service that deliversconsistently high standards of advice and support to managers and staff within the Trust. Theywill work in close collaboration with the Group Head of People (Employee Resolutions andAdvisory Service and wider workforce and Health Unit management and leadership teams toensure delivery of a professional and high-quality ER service to Trust, Health Units, divisions anddepartments.To be the expert in employment relations issues providing coaching, advice and consultancy,ensuring best practice initiatives are followed to support resolutions, avoiding harm throughdeployment of remedial and supportive actions first, before formal policies and procedures areinvoked.
Main duties of the job
The Employee Relations and Advisory Service have an exciting vacancy for an Associate ER Partner to join our team, you will be aligned to support one of our main hospital sites.
You will line manage 2x Senior ER Advisors and an ER Advisor. The key aspects of your role will be fostering positive relationships with the senior management of the Divisions you own. You will be responsible for managing all employee relations cases, and manage your divisional advisors whilst fostering learning.
You will support the effective delivery of a high quality and professional Human Resources service providing focused challenge, advice and guidance to managers in the Trust and ensure effective implementation of, and compliance with, all workforce policies, procedures, workforce practices and standards.
You will oversee all stages of Employee Relations processes, including advising and supporting managers with disciplinary matters, appeal panels and attendance at Employment Tribunals as required.
You will also be expected to confidently and effectively communicate with Trade Union representatives, senior managers and clinicians regarding organisational developments and changes. You will have a strong background in ER but NHS experience is not essential, more important is your drive and enthusiasm with an ability to apply your Employee Relations knowledge and experience to an NHS setting.
