Job summary
Be responsible for all deliveries into the logistics team, rotate and collate stock. Ensure all products are stored at the correct temperature requirement for the product.

Main duties of the job
To ensure that all goods are delivered to the logistics department in the correct quantity and daily quality checked as indicated in the specification.
To temperature check all chilled and frozen foods, which are delivered and reject if not at required temperature and use the recording equipment provided.
To store all goods correctly in the respective storage, i.e. dry, refrigerated or frozen.
To fill in official order forms for all goods ordered. Also to control deliveries or non-stock orders.
To rotate stock on use by date basis.
To sign all delivery notes and to alter any inaccuracies and match up with the official order.
Pass delivery notes matched with order on one parts without delay to the information clerk.
To inform the Logistics Administrators of any discrepancies in deliveries/orders.
Communicate any issues with deliveries to Logistics Administrators from the Stores on the decant sheet.
To clean all work areas to the required standard, including all temperature-controlled areas
To assist in the monthly stock take of the Stores.
To ensure you are familiar with special diet requests and requirements.
To assist in with sandwich area when required
To cover for logistics drivers when required
Job description
Responsible for the receipt, inspection, storage and distribution of food and catering supplies within the Logistics and Stores department, ensuring all goods are delivered in the correct quantities and meet the required quality standards and specifications. Duties include temperature checking all chilled and frozen deliveries using approved recording equipment, rejecting goods that do not meet food safety requirements, and ensuring all stock is stored appropriately in dry, refrigerated or frozen storage areas. The role requires completion of official order documentation, verification of delivery notes against purchase orders, identification and reporting of discrepancies to Logistics Administrators, and prompt submission of accurate paperwork to the Administrators. Additional responsibilities include maintaining effective stock rotation using use-by dates, supporting monthly stock takes, keeping all work and temperature-controlled areas clean and compliant with hygiene standards, and communicating delivery issues through the appropriate reporting processes. The post holder must also be familiar with special dietary requirements, provide support within the sandwich preparation area when required, and offer operational cover for logistics drivers to ensure continuity of service across the department.
