Job summary
BRUNEL PRIMARY CARE NETWORK are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Respiratory Nurse to lead and develop high-quality respiratory services across our member practices; UniCity, East Shore Partnership and The Lighthouse Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse working at an enhanced level of practice who is passionate about improving outcomes for patients living with asthma, COPD and other long-term respiratory conditions.
You will work alongside GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team, delivering expert clinical care while supporting service improvement, education and leadership across the PCN.
This position is funded through the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
Main duties of the job
You will:
Deliver expert respiratory assessment and management.
Lead respiratory clinics across multiple practices.
Perform and independently interpret diagnostic-quality spirometry.
Optimise inhaled therapies.
Support early diagnosis of respiratory disease.
Reduce avoidable hospital admissions.
Mentor and educate clinical colleagues.
Lead respiratory quality improvement projects.
Support delivery of national respiratory programmes.
Job description
The Senior Respiratory Nurse will provide expert respiratory nursing care across Brunel Primary Care Network, delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management for patients with respiratory disease.
Working autonomously at an enhanced level of practice, the post holder will provide clinical leadership, support service development, mentor colleagues and contribute to improving respiratory outcomes across all member practices.

The Brunel Primary Care Network consists of three Practices across Portsmouth; East Shore Partnership, The Lighthouse Group and University Surgery.
We have highly skilled and motivated teams working within our PCN, which consist of GP Partners, Salaried GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Diabetes and Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Nurses, GP Assistant's and HCA's; who are supported by skilled administration teams.
