The Chief Executive Officer is the senior executive leader of SoliHealth, responsible for translating the organisation's vision into high-quality, safe, sustainable, and innovative healthcare services. The role combines strategic leadership, clinical credibility, commercial awareness, and operational oversight to support SoliHealth's growth as a leading provider of integrated healthcare services.
Main duties of the job
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the senior executive responsible for leading SoliHealth's clinical strategy, service delivery, quality, innovation, and organisational performance.
The CEO will combine executive leadership with clinical expertise to ensure SoliHealth delivers outstanding, safe, effective, and patient-centered healthcare services. Working closely with the Board Chair, Senior Operations Manager, and other executive leaders, the CEO will drive clinical excellence, organisational growth, and healthcare innovation.
The postholder will be accountable for the overall clinical performance, governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic development of SoliHealth while ensuring the organisation remains a trusted healthcare provider within the NHS and independent healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to overall organisational strategy.
Lead the development and execution of SoliHealth's clinical and operational strategy.
Provide inspirational leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams.
Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Ensure all organisational activities align with SoliHealth's vision, values, and objectives.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
Act as a senior ambassador for SoliHealth.
Build strong relationships with:
- NHS organisations
- Integrated Care Boards
- Primary Care Networks
- Hospital providers
- Community organisations
- Regulators
- Academic partners
- Commercial partners
Represent SoliHealth at executive, regional, and national forums.
Promote collaborative working across health and care systems.
Clinical Strategy and Service Development
Develop and implement a long-term clinical strategy that supports sustainable growth.
Identify opportunities for service expansion, innovation, and diversification.
Lead the design and implementation of new healthcare services and care models.
Ensure services are evidence-based, patient-focused, and commercially viable.
Evaluate emerging technologies and digital health solutions that improve patient outcomes and organisational efficiency.
Clinical Governance and Quality
Maintain executive accountability for clinical quality and patient safety.
Lead the organisation's clinical governance framework.
Ensure robust systems are in place for:
- Clinical risk management
- Incident reporting and learning
- Complaints management
- Audit and assurance
- Safeguarding
- Infection prevention and control
Monitor quality indicators and implement improvement programs where required.
Ensure compliance with CQC standards and all professional regulatory requirements.
Operational Performance
Oversee delivery of high-quality healthcare services across all business areas.
Ensure achievement of agreed clinical, operational, and financial objectives.
Monitor organisational performance through key performance indicators.
Drive service efficiency and productivity whilst maintaining quality and safety.
Lead transformational programs designed to improve patient experience and outcomes.
Workforce Leadership
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing clinical workforce.
Lead workforce planning and talent management strategies.
Ensure effective appraisal, supervision, and professional development systems.
Promote staff wellbeing, engagement, and inclusive leadership.
Foster the development of future clinical leaders.
Financial and Commercial Responsibility
Work with executive colleagues to ensure organisational sustainability and growth.
Support the development of business cases, contracts, and service proposals.
Ensure clinical resources are utilised efficiently and effectively.
Contribute to annual budget planning and financial performance reviews.
Balance quality, patient outcomes, and commercial objectives.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with:
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations
- Information Governance requirements
- Safeguarding legislation
- Health and Safety legislation
- Data protection requirements
Lead organisational responses to inspections, audits, and external reviews.
Corporate Responsibilities
Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making processes.
Support development and delivery of corporate objectives.
Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Promote SoliHealth's reputation and values.
Ensure decisions are patient-centered and evidence-based.
Act as a role model for professional leadership and organisational culture.
Time Commitment
TBA anticipated to be approximately 2 - 3 days per month, including:
- Board meetings
- Executive Team Meetings
- Strategic planning sessions
- Stakeholder engagement activities
- CEO support and development meetings
Additional time may be required during periods of significant organisational change or growth.

SoliHealth is the GP Provider Alliance of all six Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Solihull. Established in 2018, it delivers clinical services and projects across Solihull and supports the scale-up of working for all GP practices in the locality.
