Main duties of the job

Your role as a Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare involves delivering high standards of personal care and being an integral part of the care team to ensure seamless services to residents. You will assist residents with their personal hygiene, always maintaining their dignity, independence, and respect. You are expected to identify and understand clinical risks such as weight loss or pressure sores and escalate them timely. Courtesy towards residents and visitors, maintaining safe work practices, and abiding by instructions from team members are essential. Experience isnt necessary, as thorough training is provided to ensure confidence in your duties. Effective communication, initiative, adaptability, and a respectful demeanor are crucial for this role.

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
  • Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalate any identified risks in a timely manner.
  • Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
  • Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
