Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeping Assistant with Avery Healthcare, you will be part of a team ensuring cleanliness and laundry standards are maintained at the care home. You'll execute cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions, understand cleaning requirements of various surfaces, and ensure residents are treated with dignity. You'll need knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH. Experience in laundry cleaning in public settings is required. Adaptability and flexibility are crucial, as are compassion and commitment. Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions.
  • Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
  • Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.

  • The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
