Job summary
The Programme Director - Outpatient Transformation will provide senior leadership for a Trust-wide programme to redesign, improve and modernise outpatient services across Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be responsible for establishing and leading a structured programme of work that improves patient access, reduces unnecessary follow-up activity, supports elective recovery, strengthens productivity and enables more personalised, digitally enabled outpatient care.
Working to the Director of Transformation and with a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer, the post holder will act as the senior programme lead for outpatient transformation, bringing together clinical, operational, digital, analytical, workforce, finance and patient experience expertise to deliver measurable and sustainable change.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the Trust-wide Outpatient Transformation Programme, delivering improvements in patient access, productivity, service sustainability and patient experience.
- Work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to redesign outpatient pathways and implement innovative models of care, including digital and personalised outpatient services
- Develop and deliver a robust programme plan, ensuring effective governance, risk management, benefits realisation and performance reporting.
- Use data, evidence and stakeholder insight to identify opportunities for improvement and support informed decision-making across specialties and services.
- Lead the delivery of productivity and efficiency improvements through better utilisation of capacity, improved processes and reduction of unnecessary follow-up activity.
- Build strong relationships with clinicians, operational leaders, patients and partners to secure engagement, ownership and successful implementation of change.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for senior leaders and Trust governance forums, providing assurance on progress, risks and benefits.
- Ensure all transformation proposals consider quality, safety, workforce, equality, digital and financial implications.
- Provide visible leadership to programme teams and workstream leads, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
