Job summary
Cellular Pathology is a busy, multi-site service with a strong culture of continual quality improvement, professional collaboration, and regulatory excellence. Our quality management system is underpinned by ISO 15189:2022 and delivered through collaborative input from the quality team and operational teams of Cellular Pathology.
The post offers a valuable opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a key leadership role within the Cellular Pathology Quality team, supporting the continued implementation of ISO 15189:2022 standard and maintaining compliance with UKAS and other regulatory frameworks.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Cellular Pathology Quality & Governance Manager, Quality Officers, and Laboratory Managers across the division.We are committed to robust audit cycles, timely non-conformity management, and data-driven monitoring of key quality indicators. This role plays a vital part in ensuring patient safety and service enhancement across the network.
Main duties of the job
- To be a key member of the Pathology Quality Team.
- To maintain the Cellular Pathology Quality management system as directed by the Quality and Governance managers.
- To deputise for the Quality and Governance manager as required.
- To train and assist the laboratory teams to perform / document audits against defined national quality performance measures.
- To assist in the development and completion of quality improvement action plans.
- To investigate and assist the investigation of incidents, non-conformities and complaints to enable the department to respond appropriately.
