Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Operations Lead Out of Hours (OOH) on a secondment basis through to the end of September 2027. This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a senior operational leadership role and broaden their experience within a dynamic urgent care environment. Based in North West London, you will take daytoday ownership of OutofHours services, including Primary Care Centers and Home Visiting. You will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with national and local performance standards. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will lead OOH operational teams, acting as a visible and supportive leader. You will drive performance, staff engagement and continuous improvement, ensuring teams are equipped to deliver highquality care to patients. This is a handson and varied role where you will manage operational challenges, support service development and ensure the highest standards of care for patients, partners and stakeholders, all while role modelling organisational values. This role is a fixed term contract until September 2027.

Main duties of the job

  • - Leading the daytoday operations of OutofHours services, ensuring safe and effective delivery.

  • - Monitoring service performance, KPIs and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

  • - Managing, supporting and developing OOH staff through 1:1s, appraisals and training.

  • - Overseeing rota management and workforce planning to ensure services are fully resourced.

  • - Acting as an escalation point for operational challenges, troubleshooting in real time.

  • - Supporting the Operations Manager and stepping up during periods of absence.

  • - Managing incidents and ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.

  • - Driving service improvements and contributing to new projects and initiatives.

  • - Participating in the Bronze oncall rota and supporting business continuity planning.
