Senior Physiotherapy Technician
The Physiotherapy Technician is a key member of the Community Learning Disability Team, supporting the delivery of specialist physiotherapy services to adults with Learning Disabilities across community settings. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Physiotherapist to undertake non-complex assessments, implement physiotherapy treatment programmes, provide advice and education to clients, families and carers, and support safe mobility, falls prevention and rehabilitation interventions.
The role involves working independently in a range of settings including clients' homes, residential and nursing homes, day services and clinics. The post holder will contribute to maintaining high standards of care, promoting independence, improving physical function and supporting equitable access to healthcare for adults with Learning Disabilities.

Main duties of the job
Support the Physiotherapist in delivering specialist physiotherapy services to adults with Learning Disabilities.Undertake non-complex assessments and implement treatment programmes under the supervision of the Physiotherapist.Deliver individual and group rehabilitation, mobility and exercise programmes.Assess, issue and provide instruction in the use of mobility equipment and walking aids within scope of practice.Teach and support clients, families, carers and support staff to carry out physiotherapy programmes safely and effectively.Monitor client progress and promptly escalate changes in presentation or risk to the Physiotherapist.Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team and external agencies to support coordinated care.Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service data collection, audit and outcome monitoring.Work autonomously as a lone practitioner in community settings whilst adhering to Trust policies and professional standards.Participate in continuing professional development, mandatory training and service improvement activities.
