Main duties of the job

Key Duties:

  • Conduct holistic clinical assessment with (or without) prescribing a range of medications (including controlled drugs) within
  • Waythroughs formulary, to support recovery in line with national and organisational guidelines and policies, and within scope of competency.
  • Prescribe cost effectively and according to best practice, provide prescribing information and advice to key stakeholders and partner agencies including pharmacists, GPs and hospital teams.
  • Assessment of people who use alcohol, which include criteria for community or inpatient detoxification. Prescribing interventions and management of people who are appropriate for community alcohol detoxification.
