Job summary

1. The post holder is responsible for managing key planned maintenance projects/programs of high-priority complex medical equipment in clinical areas that have challenging environments such as theatres, intensive care units, emergency department and endoscopy unit with the aim to achieve maintenance compliance targets to meet CQC regulations.

2. The post holder is responsible for performing the repair and maintenance of a portfolio of complex medical equipment including dealing with related technical problems that are not limited the equipment alone.

3. The post holder is responsible for working closely with Medical Device Connectivity team to perform planned maintenance as well as resolve issues related to medical devices' IT connectivity and medical systems

4. As a principal engineer in the section, to take responsibility for leading in several of the key areas of equipment repair and maintenance and connectivity, and to supervise other staff to achieve the project aim.

5. The post holder also makes a significant contribution to the policies and procedures used by the Section, the development of the services provided, and their efficiency, and to the maintenance of the Section's Quality System.

6. Part of the income generation operation, the postholder shall contribute to delivering maintenance and technical services to the department's external customers including NHS and private healthcare organisations.
