Job summary

Burwell Surgery is looking for an experienced practice nurse to join our well regarded and supportive team to assist the practice to provide excellent care to patients.

You must be able to work as part of a team, have the ability to organise and prioritise own workload on a day-to-day basis.

Main duties of the job

The main duties will include all aspects of treatment room services including dressings, vaccines and cervical smears.

The role will also include involvement in chronic disease management and training can be provided to support this.

Hours 18 to 27 hours

JOB SUMMARY

To assist Burwell Surgery in providing a friendly and caring service to patients to support health monitoring and chronic disease management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treatment room duties eg. dressings, suture removal, swabs, cervical smears, venepuncture, routine vaccinations, contraception service.
  • Disease management and health promotion clinics eg. diabetic, asthma, smoking, weight, patient health checks, leg ulcer
  • Regularly checking medical equipment to ensure serviced and maintained.
  • Infection control and prevention
  • Admin to include completing patient record books as necessary and keeping accurate record on medical records system.
  • Deal with tasks received via multiple routes eg. SystmOne, AskmyGP and email
  • Attend training sessions to keep knowledge up to date
  • Attend meetings as requested by your Manager to ensure you are up to date on organisation policies and procedures
