Wiltshire MHST are delighted to be expanding our provision further across Wiltshire and are therefore recruiting for the role of MHST supervisors / trainee supervisors to join our teams for our expansion in January 2027.

This trainee role is available to qualified EMHPs who are interested in progressing their career in a Mental Health Support Team. This role will require the candidate to complete the one year PG Cert in Clinical Supervision of Low Intensity Psychological Therapies in Education Settings at Exeter university, commencing in Jan 2027.

These roles will be based in either our Central Wiltshire or South Wiltshire areas, with clinical work to be undertaken in those areas. Preferences for area of work will be considered following interviews.

Main duties of the job

Wiltshire MHST was commissioned in 2020 to provide low intensity CBT to a selected number of schools within the locality. The team is continuing with expansion in 2027 to increase coverage to approximately 70% of education settings and over 80% of pupils in Wiltshire by February 2028.

Working within Wiltshire MHST, your role will be to supervise EMHPs and help them to develop their role. Supervision consists of both Case Management Supervision and Clinical Skills Supervision, following a low intensity model.

As a supervisor for the Mental Health Support Team, your main duties will involve:

  • Offering caseload management and clinical skills supervision to qualified and trainee EMHPs in the service.
  • Holding a caseload of young people, offering clinical assessments and low intensity interventions within MHST Schools
  • Triaging and allocating referrals via agreed protocols within the service, with support from the Senior Management Team.
  • Providing signposting and self-help advice, or refer onto other services, where referrals are not appropriate for MHST
  • Supporting EMHP trainees using role modelling to assess and support children and young people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.
  • Supporting EMHPs in delivering Whole School Approach work (audits of Whole School Approach, delivery of assemblies, work to promote positive mental wellbeing in the educational setting, groups etc.)
