Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 enthusiastic and motivated Full-time CAMHS Practitioner to join the SET-CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Team. The SPA team is the front door into specialist children and young peoples mental health services across South Essex. The service is responsible for the screening, triaging and referring to SET CAMHS pathways or providing signposting recommendations. Ensuring that children, young people and families receive appropriate support. Working within the Thrive model, the SPA team promotes a needs-led and collaborative approach, working closely with community SET CAMHS teams and partner agencies across health, education, social care and the voluntary sector. The aim is to ensure safe, effective and timely decision-making, and to support positive outcomes for young people and their families. This role involves gathering & reviewing referral information, undertaking clinical screening, conducting triage calls and risk assessing. Contributing to robust formulation and decision-making regarding the most appropriate care pathway. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring consistency, quality and safety in the referral and allocation process. The SPA team offers a supportive environment with excellent opportunities for professional development. All new starters will receive opportunities to shadow different parts of the wider SET CAMHS service to develop a comprehensive understanding of pathways and roles.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties of the Job The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive and dynamic SPA team based in Colchester, Essex. You will work alongside experienced and motivated colleagues and will have access to regular supervision, both individually and in group settings, as well as opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD). We are looking for a practitioner who is enthusiastic about improving access to mental health services for children and young people, and who can demonstrate strong assessment, communication and decision-making skills. The role requires the ability to manage a varied workload, work independently within a busy service, and contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to develop their skills and progress their career. The team provides regular clinical supervision, reflective practice space, and operates within a shared decision-making model to ensure safe and effective outcomes for young people.

Please note this role is primarily office based, however consideration will be given for some hybrid working if required. There is no on-site parking available at the base location. However, public parking costs can be reclaimed in line with Trust policy.
