Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BSCCP accredited nurse colposcopist to join the team in Southmead hospital, working within the Gynaecology Outpatients department.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic BSCCP accredited nurse colposcopist (band 7) to join our expanding Gynaecology service. We would also welcome applications from staff who don't hold the BSCCP qualification but would be keen to undertake the colposcopist course whilst working with the team on a band 6 level.
The Band 7 specialist nurse will deliver individualised patient centered care with a strong focus on effective communication and compassionate care.
This role will suit a knowledgeable and skilled nurse with gynaecology support and care experience who is interested in developing colposcopy knowledge and skills. You will work as an autonomous practitioner seeing patients independently. Throughout this role you will work alongside the Gynae Consultants and Gynae Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in Bristol and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit, and research.
The post holder will ensure practice is in line with the latest governance frameworks and they will have a responsibility to ensure that they are kept up to date and work within up-to-date guidance.
The post holder will maintain and develop expertise and skills within this specialist field to facilitate the safe and effective management of their patients. The post holder will demonstrate professionalism in their behaviour, attitude, and appearance always.
Job description
The post holder will contribute to the development of the workforce, through developing and delivering education and training as well as an expectation to participate in research activity and clinical audits within the specialist area.
The post holder is required to focus on improving the patient care experience and support to service development. The post holder will be expected to both inform and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings on their specialist area.
