Job summary
The Finance Team provides expert financial, procurement, and business support services across Care Plus Group (CPG). The team is responsible for financial planning, reporting, budget management, procurement support, financial governance, and the operation of effective financial systems and controls. Working closely with managers and stakeholders throughout the organisation, the service helps ensure resources are used efficiently, statutory obligations are met, and strategic objectives are supported through sound financial management.
The Management Accountant plays a key role within the Finance Team, supporting the Finance Manager in the effective financial management of CPG. The postholder will act as a vital link between Finance and operational services, ensuring the timely, accurate and efficient provision of financial information to support decision-making, financial control and organisational performance. The role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, financial reporting, budget monitoring and analysis, and the reconciliation of key control accounts within the Trial Balance in accordance with the Group's reporting timetable and financial procedures.

Hours: 37.5 per week, Permanent
Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm
Salary Range 5 point 22 £35,352 per annum (pay award pending)
You will:
- Have detailed understanding and knowledge of accounting standards, procedures and processes to enable complex project work and financial queries to be undertaken and resolved without supervision. You will support the annual external audit process and assist with the statutory accounts and regulatory returns.
- Identify, investigate financial variances and trends and ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs) and financial procedures.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to a high standard and in a timely manner for the CPG and its subsidiary companies. Review, monitor and report on management accounts position, budget reports to management and budget holders.
- Ensure timely and accurate management information is provided whilst ensuring the financial ledgers of CPG balanced within set timescales with a minimum of inaccurate/unnecessary transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and consistent monitoring and forecasting of cash flow and will maintain and develop the financial system ensuring that current and future needs for financial information are identified and met.
- Be a Part Qualified Chartered Accountant with ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA with experience of management accounting and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
