Job summary
Ongar Health Centre is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic advanced nurse practitioner to join our friendly team of 4 GP partners, 1 advance nurse practitioner, 4 practice nurses, 2 HCAs and a large administrative team. This is a part-time position for 2-4 days a week.

Job description
- Practice independently in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and with reference to practice guidelines, appropriately referring to GPs.
- Deliver a high standard of patient care, using advanced autonomous clinical skills, and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
- Provide expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues.
- Provide the opportunity for you to develop innovative concepts, models, methods and practices to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population.
- Promote health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills.
- As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication as defined by current legislative framework.
- Lead and under research and audits.
- Provide leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students.
- As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group
- Ensure continuation of own personal and professional development facilitated by utilisation of clinical supervision networks.
- Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.
- Support practice to achieve QOF
- Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice.
- Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the practice, with appropriate regard to confidentiality.
