Job summary

Ophthalmology is a large service comprising of outpatient clinics, emergency eye clinics, elective and emergency clinics. We have a large team of consultants and junior doctors in training. The medical team are supported by AHPs, nursing staff and clinical nurse specialists.

The successful candidate will work alongside clinical staff in the subspecialties to create capacity for patient appointments and be involved in supporting the leadership of our large administrative team.

Risk and governance are also a key part of this role and the post holder will support the deputy operations manager to embed learning from governance initiatives including updating and auditing compliance to relevant standard operating procedures.

The service manager is responsible for leading on all relevant improvement projects within the service.
