Team Secretary Apprentice - Band 3 - NHS Sussex Partnership Trust - Dementia Service Team - 30.0 hours/ week (9 AM - 5 PM - with 3 working days and 1 study day)

Would you like to be paid while you develop your administration skills and gain a Level 3 Business Administration qualification in a healthcare setting? If so, this might be the opportunity for you.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Business Administration Apprentice to join our service as a Team Secretary within Dementia Services.

As a successful candidate you will have to provide efficient and pro-active secretarial/admin support to the consultants and other team members in afriendly environment where you can develop your skills and achieve the Business Administration qualification.

The apprentice will be expected to meet the requirements of this job description by the end of the apprenticeship. This will be achieved by gaining relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the structured learning that are set by the training provider and line manager.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritize and adapt to constant demands on the workload as well as to demonstrate the ability to work as a team member.The post holder is responsible for carrying out general administrative duties; work within set routines, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service to the unit, and able to deal efficiently and courteously with patients and staff enquiries. Relevant experience working within an administration team is essential.

Essential skills required for the post include - the ability to prioritize tasks, effective time management skills; excellent IT and secretarial skills; good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

About us

We want to recruit, develop and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Commitment to completing the qualification during the apprenticeship is required. This apprenticeship standard is at Level 3 and will typically take around 18 months to complete.

The post is fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship, with a possibility of a permanent role upon completion, though this is not guaranteed.

The post is part time - 30.0 hours per week, and based at Drayton House, Chichester.

  • Must not have a similar business administrative qualification (including apprenticeship at Level 3 or above) and must not be in any form of formal government-funded education.
