An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised, and patient-focused individual to join our Oncology administrative team as an Admin and Booking Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating the smooth running of patient pathways by providing efficient and responsive administrative support. Working closely with the Patient Pathway Coordinator, you will help ensure patients receive a seamless service throughout their treatment journey, acting as a key point of contact and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

The Admin and Booking Co-ordinator will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient management of oncology patient pathways through the provision of high-quality administrative services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Patient Pathway Coordinator in the administration and coordination of Oncology patient pathways.
  • Booking, rescheduling and managing patient appointments in accordance with Trust policies and waiting time standards.
  • Processing referrals and ensuring patient information is accurately recorded on Trust systems.
  • Uploading, processing and maintaining clinical information and correspondence.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, GPs and other healthcare organisations.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional, courteous and patient-centred manner.
  • Providing administrative support to Oncology Consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support patient care.
