Job summary

This role is only open to Derbyshire Healthcare employees andemployees of Derbyshire System Partners within the Derbyshire ICB.

This post holder will be responsible for the operational management of all aspects of the Adult Acute to include PICU care group and across all sites in Derby and Chesterfield in which the care group runs services.

The postholder will be a key part of the care group triumvirate management team, taking joint accountability for the performance of the care group. Working alongside the Care Group Matron and the Care Group Clinical Director.

The post holder will work with senior clinical leaders and managers to drive and deliver excellent management leadership, support and capacity. They will ensure that effective management and delivery underpins the leadership of the directorate they manage and that the Divisional Deputy Director is supported to ensure the full engagement of all staff in the directorate in the delivery of the Care Group, Division and Trust strategy.

The post holder will deputise for the Divisional Deputy Director when required.

Manage Deputy Operational Care Group Manager

Provide senior management leadership in supporting the Care Group in its contribution to the Divisional and Trust agenda and national plan

Remain up to date with changing objectives, external guidance, frameworks and directives, advising the care group as necessary.

Promote a culture of safety and quality, openness and accountability, public service and teamwork in an environment of flexibility in which innovation can flourish in response to patients' needs.

In association with the care group triumvirate, be accountable for the Care Group financial performance relating to delegated budgets for which this post is responsible and the operational performance of the Care Group, providing reports as required

Ensure appraisal, objective-setting and performance development plans for all direct reports and Care Group staff

Deputise for the Divisional Deputy Director of Operations when required.

Take accountability for ensuring key messages and Trust communications are delivered and received to all Care Group staff

To participate in the on-call arrangement for service (1st on call).

Take accountability for ensuring key messages and Trust communications are delivered and received to all Care Group staff

To participate in the on-call arrangement for service (1st on call).
