Main duties of the job

As a Care Assistant, your primary focus will be to deliver high standards of personal care, working as part of the care team to ensure residents receive continuous services. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene care, recognizing clinical risk areas such as weight loss and falls, and escalating risks timely. The role demands respectful interaction with residents and their visitors, and practicing safe systems of work. The ideal candidate should demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to take initiative, respect residents and staff, and adaptability to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice. While experience isn't necessary, communication skills, initiative, efficiency, and adaptability are valuable traits. A DBS check is required and covered by Avery Healthcare, as well as proof of eligibility to work in the UK. Training and a thorough induction program are offered to ensure confidence in the role.

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
  • Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalate any identified risks in a timely manner.
  • Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
  • Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
