Exciting Opportunity: Band 4 STaR Worker - Hertfordshire Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Team (CJLDT)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? We are delighted to announce a fantastic new role within our dynamic CJLDT, where you'll be part of a highly skilled team supporting individuals in the criminal justice system. As a Band 4 STaR Worker, you will play a pivotal part in guiding service users through challenging circumstances, enabling new beginnings and brighter futures.

Working primarily in the community, you'll deliver short-term interventions to those referred by senior staff members, helping individuals access vital first appointments for assessments with services such as drug and alcohol teams, community mental health services, autism support, and housing. You'll also champion the implementation of Mental Health Treatment Requirements, contributing to fairer outcomes under Community Orders.

Occasionally, you may assist senior colleagues with triage and assessment in court and custody settings, gaining invaluable experience and insight into specialist areas of practice. Your work will be varied and rewarding, offering unique career development opportunities.

You'll be based across Hatfield and Stevenage, working from satellite locations to ensure the highest level of care and support for our service users.

Please note: Appointment is subject to successful Police vetting.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting a dedicated professional to join our team in supporting individuals referred to our service. You will operate both independently and collaboratively, building strong relationships with colleagues and allied professionals. The role involves developing targeted short-term action plans to address service user needs and manage risk, negotiating outcomes across various organisations, conducting carer assessments, and assisting with allied professional training. You will participate actively in multi-disciplinary decision-making, contribute to team development, review service methods and clinical practice, and ensure prompt documentation of service user contacts and incidents in line with safeguarding policies.
