Tobacco Dependency Advisor Band 3 - Full Time/Part-time 37.5 hours per week available

This role will work collaboratively with other tobacco dependency advisors to identify current smokers amongst patients admitted to West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven. You will provide safe, well organized and evidence based Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) advice and support to those smokers identified. Where necessary, confirmation of abstinence will be confirmed by carbon monoxide breath testing and data will be collected to demonstrate the efficacy of the scheme.

Travel is required within designated service location, including occasional regional travel.

Main duties of the job

• Support the delivery of the trust-wide tobacco dependency treatment implementation plan
• Provide high quality stop smoking behavioural support and pharmacological advice in accordance with the NSCST (National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training) guidelines to those wishing to stop smoking
• Provide tobacco dependency treatment and support across the acute hospital to support the delivery of the service key performance and reporting indicators for tobacco dependency.
• Maintain a high standard of work and prioritise own workload according to the needs of the service

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £6.50 = £28.00. Deducted from salary over following 4 months or one off payment.

Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £6.50 = £56.00. Deducted from salary over following 4 months or one off payment.
