Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Worker to join our team at Gordon Moody. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals affected by gambling-related harm. Working closely with our Clinical Lead, CBT Therapists, PWPs.

Main duties of the job

As a Recovery Worker at Gordon Moody, you will play a key role in helping people rebuild their lives free from gambling-related harm. Working within a supportive residential treatment environment, you will provide compassionate one-to-one support, coordinate individual care plans and work closely with therapists and external agencies to ensure each resident receives the right help at every stage of their recovery.

You will also support recovery-focused group sessions, help residents develop practical life skills such as budgeting, cooking and managing appointments, maintain accurate care records and help prepare individuals for a positive and sustainable move on from treatment. Reporting to: Treatment Centre Manager Location: Redditch B97 Salary: £26,967.00-£31,597.00 per year

Hours: 35 hours per week with varied shifts between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Will involve some weekend work.

The Role

Were looking for a Recovery Worker to support individuals through their rehabilitation journey. Youll work closely with residents, therapists, and partner agencies to ensure each person receives the tailored care they need to recover and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support and coordinate individual care plans
  • Help service users register with GPs, access benefits, and attend appointments
  • Facilitate and support recovery-focused group sessions
  • Carry out health & safety checks, room inductions, and drug/alcohol testing
  • Support life skills development (e.g. cooking, budgeting, cleaning)
  • Liaise with external services to ensure a smooth transition after treatment
  • Keep accurate records using our care management system

What Were Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care / Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Strong communication and care coordination skills
  • Ability to work with vulnerable people in a supportive way
  • IT skills and confident with record keeping
  • Flexible approach to shift work (some evenings/weekends)

Desirable:

  • Experience working with addiction (e.g. gambling, drugs, alcohol)
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and risk management
  • Group facilitation or therapeutic support skills
