Swansea Bay University Health Board currently hasa Band 7 vacancy for a Static Occupational Therapist in Rheumatology Outpatients.

The post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team. You will provide specialist assessment, goal directed intervention and rehabilitation topatients in the setting.

You willbe requiredto work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with a unique opportunity to engage in service development and change.

You will need excellent leadership, communication and organisational skillsand sound clinical knowledge, but enthusiasm and the potential to develop these within the post will also be valued. As such, you will be provided with a variety of opportunities to develop your leadership,managementand clinical skills.

Main duties of the job

The role willbe responsible forthe management and development of the service as well asmaintaininga clinical caseload. A commitment to collaborative working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team is essential. We actively support the education of Occupational Therapy students within our service.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and clinical skills, along withexperience of service development and quality improvement.

To manage a defined caseload within specialist area, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of intervention whereappropriate; hospital, community, patients' homes, schools, outpatient settings andmaintainingassociated records. To organise this efficiently and effectivelywith regard toclinical priorities and use of time.

To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others.

To work in partnership with clients, carers and all stake holders including the multidisciplinary/ multi agency team toidentifyrelevant goals.

To provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor /team leader.

To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.

Toparticipatein CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities.
