Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your focus will involve working collaboratively to maintain standards of cleanliness and laundry in the home. Your responsibilities include carrying out cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions, understanding different cleaning requirements for surfaces, and ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect. The role is to ensure hotel service standards are maintained. Ideal candidates should possess knowledge of Health and Safety, have experience with public laundry cleaning, demonstrate compassion and adaptability, and possess the ability to work flexibly across various responsibilities.

Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions.
• Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

Our ideal candidatemusthave:

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
