We are recruiting for a Deputy Sister for the Intensive Care Unit who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care.
Main duties of the job
To act up for Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader in their absence on a regular basis and to assist in the day-to-day ward management as appropriate to provide management and a high standard clinical leadership.
In conjunction with the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader provide clear and consistent leadership to the team of nurses, achieving and maintaining high morale, based on sound organisation and clear relationships.
All actions in line with NMC codes and other statutory and organisational standards.
Educate and support staff with the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader. Identify staff development needs through the appraisal process.
As a senior member of the Ward/Unit/team is a role model to all members of staff, student nurses and visitors to the Ward/Unit.
Manage & monitor clinical standards in line with the Trust policies through audit process.
To provide information as required, including notification of incidents and accidents to staff, patient and visitors.
Lead on the investigation of concerns related to poor clinical practice or staff management. Escalate all concerns when there is a concern over the care being delivered by an individual.
