Our friendly Estates and Facilities Team in Dartford are seeking a Mobile Cleaner, apply now and kickstart your career in the NHS.
We are seeking a Mobile Cleaner who has the determination, and valuable skills required, to ensure our hygiene standards are met in line with New NHS Cleaning Guidelines.
This post is for 16 hours per week, which is worked between the hours of 08:00-20:00 Monday to Friday.
Your main base will be the Greenacres site in Dartford--a key facility supporting eleven secure mental health wards, administrative spaces, and outpatient buildings.
You will also provide essential cover across our hubs and satellite sites in North Kent as needed. Working alongside our supportive Site Management, your efforts will directly contribute to a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
- Maintain High Standards: Complete daily shift plans and task schedules efficiently, ensuring cleanliness meets official NHS cleaning guidelines.
- Domestic & Healthcare Cleaning: Carry out general cleaning and related domestic duties across clinical, administrative, and outpatient areas to a high standard.
- Patient-Focused Support: Work collaboratively with ward managers and the wider Hotel Services team to deliver a clean, hygienic, and supportive environment for patients.
- Performance Monitoring: Complete weekly departmental performance checks to help maintain the Trust's rigorous standards.
- Safe Waste Management: Safely collect and dispose of waste at designated collection points in strict accordance with Health, Safety, and Trust policies.
- Flexibility & Travel: Travel between local hubs and satellite sites across North Kent to provide flexible cleaning support where required.
Job description
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Candidates must have previous cleaning experience, basic knowledge of National Cleaning Standards, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, this is essential due to the importance of the post holder being able to understand and communicate handover information.
The ability to work without direct supervision is also super important.
NHS experience is not essential, so please do apply if you feel your skills and experience align with our requirements
What is High Cost Area Allowance?
The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.
As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,346 per year and a maximum payment of £2,270 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly) (2026/27 figures)
