The role of the Information Governance (IG) Officer is to work with the Trust Secretary, Senior Information Risk Officer, and Caldicott Guardian to ensure that Information Governance policies and procedures are developed in lined with best practice and that standards are understood and adhered to.

The post holder will work with the Trust Secretary in relation to the Trust's self-assessment against national standards for Information Governance.

Main duties of the job

To support the promotion of information governance awareness throughout the Trust by providing training and written procedures that are widely disseminated and made available to all staff. This will include face to face delivery of information governance training at staff induction and mandatory training sessions for all levels of staff.

Job description

The postholder is responsible for the project management and the accurate and timely submission of the Information Governance toolkit, including advising requirement leads on the information required. In addition, promoting information governance awareness throughout the Trust and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and NHS requirements. The postholder will also act as the first point of contact for all matters relating to information governance.
