Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will:
- Deliver structured, evidence-based psychological interventions under supervision
- Undertake comprehensive psychological assessments, including risk assessments
- Work collaboratively with service users to develop formulations and care plans
- Contribute to a patient-centred, recovery-focused approach to mental healthcare
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising closely with other professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice
- Support service development initiatives and contribute to improving care pathways
Job description
In this role, you will provide high-quality psychological care within a busy Community Mental Health Team, supporting adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Working under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, you will apply your training to deliver low- to moderate-intensity psychological interventions, ensuring all care is evidence-based and tailored to individual needs.
You will be responsible for carrying out structured clinical assessments, developing psychological formulations, and delivering interventions that promote recovery and improve wellbeing. You'll build strong therapeutic relationships with service users, enabling them to actively engage in their care and achieve meaningful outcomes.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists, contributing psychological insights to inform holistic care planning. You'll also play a role in managing clinical risk, ensuring safe and effective care delivery at all times.
You'll be expected to maintain high standards of record-keeping, adhere to professional and ethical guidelines, and actively engage in supervision and continuous professional development.
