Job summary

The Goods Inwards Team Leader supports the effective day-to-day operation of the Procurement and Supply Chain Goods Inwards and Distribution service within the Trust. The post holder is responsible for coordinating workload activities, supervising operational processes and supporting team members to ensure the accurate receipt, processing and distribution of goods in line with departmental procedures and service standards.

Working within a fast-paced hospital environment, the post holder will ensure deliveries are receipted accurately, discrepancies are managed appropriately and urgent clinical supply requirements are prioritised to support patient care. The role also includes maintaining high standards of health and safety, stock traceability, quality assurance and operational efficiency across the Goods Inwards function.

Acting as a deputy to the Goods Inwards and Distribution Supervisor when required, the post holder will contribute to staff training, service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of efficient supply chain processes across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To support the day-to-day operation of the Goods Inwards and Distribution service, ensuring the accurate receipt, processing and distribution of goods across the Trust.

The post holder will coordinate workload activities, support and supervise team members, maintain compliance with operational and health and safety procedures, and assist with urgent supply requests to support patient care and service delivery.
