Job summary

Due to a high-volume increase in patient numbers, we are inviting a self-motivated, organised individual who have excellent customer service skills and are passionate about patient care, to apply for this position.

The role is demanding so you must be confident, assertive and have the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. You will have good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally in a sensitive and professional manner. The ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.

Main duties of the job

The postholder provides comprehensive administrative and patient pathway support to the Rapid Diagnostic Centre (RDC), ensuring patients progress safely and efficiently through their cancer pathway. Key responsibilities include managing clinical correspondence and transcription, coordinating referrals, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting MDTs, tracking patients and investigations, communicating effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams, responding to enquiries, and ensuring all administrative processes are completed within agreed timescales to support cancer waiting time standards and high-quality patient care.
