Junior Fixed Term Appointment for Service in Neurology (CT Level)NHS
Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Fixed Term Appointment for Service post (FTSA) in Neurology at CT Level within the Neurology department based at the University Hospital of Wales. The post is for a 6-month fixed term period from 5th August 2026 to 2nd February 2027 and is not recognised for training.
The successful candidate will receive training at a tertiary neuroscience centre working on the neurology ward and the neurology day unit. The department also incudes a neurosciences research unit and an epilepsy video-telemetry suite. There will be exposure to a range of acute and long-term neurological conditions while being full supported by an appropriate senior team.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide specialist care to neurological patients at the University Hospital of Wales. This includes providing ward cover Monday to Friday, 9-5, supporting the Neurological Day Unit to ensure patients are consented and receive their regular treatments and managing ward referrals.
There will also be opportunities to be involved in teaching, research and audit projects.
