Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will: To monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels To assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems To receive goods in appropriately checking against purchase orders/delivery notes, dealing with issues/anomalies as they arise and escalating appropriately To carry out dispensing of medicines accurately selecting the correct quantity of medicine required and assembling, labelling and processing them in a safe, efficient and timely manner To provide day to day support and guidance to Pharmacy staff as appropriate To effectively co-ordinate and undertake activities to support the efficient working of the pharmacy service

Join us as a Pharmacy Technician in our Guildford Hospital and play your part in building a healthier nation. You'll join our Pharmacy team as a technician, bringing relevant experience and a NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy services skills where you'll become part of a knowledgeable team and support the efficient running of the service. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will:
- To monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels
- To assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems
- To receive goods in appropriately checking against purchase orders/delivery notes, dealing with issues/anomalies as they arise and escalating appropriately
- To carry out dispensing of medicines accurately selecting the correct quantity of medicine required and assembling, labelling and processing them in a safe, efficient and timely manner
- To provide day to day support and guidance to Pharmacy staff as appropriate
- To effectively co-ordinate and undertake activities to support the efficient working of the pharmacy service
To succeed as a Pharmacy Technician, you will:
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Experience either within a hospital or community pharmacy.
- SACT Passport beneficial
- Good IT Skills
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Good communication skills
