Job summary

Charles Dickens is 16 chair treatment unit delivering SACT and supportive treatments to patients with Oncological Cancers.

Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team in supporting the ward manager to run an effective and safe ward. Charles Dickens treat patients throughout their treatment pathway providing individualised, compassionate and informed care.

Successful applicants should be prepared to support the transition to a 6 day service if future demands necessitate.

Main duties of the job

You should be able to combine autonomy with team working sensitivity and professionalism.

You will be expected to adopt a holistic, pro-active and dynamic approach, being responsible for the delivery of a high standard of care and service to the patients. You will in association with your colleagues be required to support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, be they newly diagnosed, or being treated with palliative intent.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date has been agreed.

Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
