We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. You will be supporting children and young people (CYP) with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) at St. Philips School. This is a special educational needs school for young people aged 9 -19 years. Many students have additional needs such as mild to moderate Autistic Spectrum Disorders, language impairment or emotional issues; a few have sensory or medical needs.
Working with our experienced Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will deliver therapy programmes, support communication and empower families and school staff to help children achieve their goals. You will have access to our highly skilled and supportive wider team. Independence, key to the underlying ethos of the school, is supported and developed through a life skills programme, travel training and work experience.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties
Deliver Speech and Language Therapy support for children and young people (CYP) at St Philips School, working closely with school staff, families, Speech and Language Therapy Assistants, and other professionals.
Assess and support the communication needs of CYP with learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other additional needs, using appropriate assessment and intervention approaches.
Plan, deliver, and review therapy programmes and outcomes, ensuring support is person-centred and linked to EHCP and educational goals.
Provide advice, training, and support to parents, carers, teachers, and support staff to help develop communication skills across school, home, and daily activities.

This is a permanent term time only post and is for 37.5 hours (5days) per week.
