An exciting opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist passionate about pelvic health to take on a Fixed Term 12-month band 5 post, within Leeds Teaching Hospital Urogynaecology Outpatient Department and Perinatal Pelvic Health Service. We are looking for someone who has an enthusiasm for pelvic health and is looking to specialise in this area, with supportive training.

Our Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Department is a dynamic forward-thinking team welcoming new team players. What you will bring to the role As a Band 5 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, you will deliver care to patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and urogynaecological conditions, predominately stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse with senior support. This role if predominately bases within an outpatient setting but may also include some post-natal ward cover and delivery of virtual group sessions to patients. This role also involves a combination of face-to-face assessments and telephone clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will manage a designated clinical caseload of pelvic health presentations, provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme, with senior support.
- To conduct vaginal examinations (external and in house training is provided to complete this competency) to assess pelvic floor muscle function.
- Excellent communication and empathy especially when managing sensitive or psychosocial issues.
- In the absence of senior staff to be responsible for the supervision of students and Physiotherapy therapy assistant practitioners.
- Undertake in-house training to develop specialist skills, like abdominal and internal vaginal pelvic floor assessments, interpretation of bladder diaries, urinalysis.
