Job summary

Band 5-6 developmental post: We offer a comprehensive induction and workforce development plan with a vast array of personal, professional and academic training opportunities enabling you to expand your skill set and evidence based practices. This is a developmental post with progression to a Band 6 upon meeting the criteria within the Band 6 job description and competency framework specific to CAMHS and the completion of the preceptorship (if not already completed).

Within the CAMHS Team we have a very varied work load, which means that every day will bring new and exciting opportunities for you to develop your skills. In order to support you in your development we will use regular supervision, appraisal and talent management, to identify your interests and support your development.

This post supports delivery within the CAMHS Getting Help Team under the I-THRIVE model, providing early, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs. The role includes assessment, low-intensity therapeutic work, and collaboration with families, schools, and partner agencies.

Main duties of the job

Whether you're an experienced Registered Nurse or a Newly Registered Nurse, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that puts patient care first. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day.

Student Nurse's that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.

The CAMHS Getting Help Team is a dynamic team that is comprised of CAMHS clinicians and Children's Wellbeing Practitioners with varying professional backgrounds, enabling us to provide high quality holistic mental health care to the children and young people accessing our services.

We are a forward thinking, creative team that encourages all team members to share their ideas to improve our service for young people and their families. The role of the CAMHS Getting Help clinician is crucial in young peoples recovery and improving outcomes. The successful applicant should have skills in delivering a therapy, have experience in providing nursing or Mental Health interventions, risk management or care co-ordination.

As part of the MDT you will have the opportunity to provide evidence based interventions and therapies to children and young peoples.

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS trust places an emphasis on Staff wellbeing and provides access to a number of formal staff support services, which are available to staff on appointment. The Getting Help Team have identified a number of staff within the team who coordinate a number of in house staff wellbeing activities. The team are regularly available to meet with staff members and there are regular whole team events to support staff whilst they are at work.
