GP Practice Receptionist/Care Co-ordinatorNHS
Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with good communication skills who enjoys providing an excellent service to a wide range of people, by phone and face to face. As a GP Receptionist/Care Co-ordinator you will arrange appointments, answers queries, input data and signpost people to the appropriate services in our busy GP Surgery. Working closely with the GP team, you will ensure that everyone who contacts us receives the appropriate care.
We use TPP SystmOne and will provide training on this software.
This is a part-time post of approximately 28 hours a week. Normal working hours will be between 8am and 6.30pm, with one afternoon extending to 8pm once per month.

- Working with the duty doctor to identify the appropriate treatment for patients
- Gathering information for the Duty Doctor
- Signposting patients to services and other organisations
- Entering information onto patient records
- Printing letters and forms
- Taking messages
Job description
- Greeting patients and visitors to the Practice, providing a high standard of customer service
- Answering telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and directed appropriately
- Gathering information from patients to pass on to the Duty Doctor
- Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments
- Signposting patients to the most suitable services including self-care and patient education events offered by the Practice
- Ensuring patient records are maintained on SystmOne
- Dealing with queries and concerns raised by patients
- Working collaboratively with other members of the Practice Team to support the patient experience when contacting or visiting the Practice
