GP Partner Help Us Shape Our Next Chapter

Central Bristol | 48 sessions | 17,000+ patients | Established 5 partner practice

Following the planned retirement of our longstanding senior partner, we are looking for a 48 session GP Partner to join us from April 2027.

This is a planned succession within a stable & successful partnership. We are not looking for a like-for-like replacement we want someone who will bring their own experience, interests & ideas, have a genuine voice within the partnership & help shape what comes next.

We have a cohesive, highly experienced team, low staff turnover & strong working relationships, alongside a supportive & high-functioning PCN. We embrace technology where it genuinely improves things, while retaining the personal, approach that matters to our patients & staff.

Our central location also makes us different. We work from a beautiful Grade II listed building, surrounded by lovely gardens & in something of a rarity for central Bristol, we even have a large car park! It isnt a conventional health centre & we rather like it that way.

We are looking for more than someone to fill a vacancy; we want the right person to become the next member of our partnership. Whether you are already a partner or considering partnership for the first time, if you want to contribute, develop, be valued & help shape the future of the practice, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Come meet us, have a look around & see whether we might be the right fit for you.

Main duties of the job

As a GP Partner, you will combine high-quality clinical care with an active role in the leadership and future direction of the practice.

Alongside your clinical sessions, you will share responsibility with your fellow partners for the safe, effective and sustainable running of the practice. This includes contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, financial and strategic decision-making, and supporting the wider practice team.

Partnership is very much a team effort. We want someone who will bring their own perspective, interests and ideas to the table, while sharing responsibility for the decisions we make and the direction we take.

You will work closely with our experienced management and clinical teams and with colleagues across our PCN, helping us respond to the inevitable challenges of general practice without losing sight of what matters providing excellent care for our patients and creating a supportive place for our team to work.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to be part of the practice rather than simply work within it: someone prepared to contribute, get involved, occasionally challenge us and help shape what comes next.

Partnership involves shared responsibility and collective decision-making. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the life of the practice, support colleagues, take ownership of agreed responsibilities and play an active part in addressing both the opportunities and challenges that arise.

The exact portfolio of partnership responsibilities will be agreed according to the needs of the practice and the skills, experience and interests of individual partners and may change over time.

This job description provides an overview of the principal responsibilities of the role and is not exhaustive. Duties may develop and change in discussion and agreement with the partnership as the needs of the practice and its patients evolve.

About us

We are a busy central Bristol practice and no two days are quite the same. We work hard expect a lot of ourselves and continually look for ways to provide the best possible care for our patients.

We are also a team that genuinely enjoys working together. There is a strong sense of shared responsibility across the practice with clinical management and administrative teams working alongside each other rather than in isolation. We support each other when things are difficult celebrate the successes and importantly still find plenty of reasons to laugh along the way.

We don't pretend that general practice is without its challenges. Our approach is to tackle them together be open to new ideas and make sensible changes when there is a better way of doing something. We encourage people to contribute question and help us improve rather than simply accept that's how we've always done it.

Patient care remains at the centre of the decisions we make. We want to provide care we can be proud of while recognising that looking after the people delivering that care is equally important.

We are professional and ambitious for our practice but we are also human. We want this to be somewhere people enjoy coming to work feel part of something and know that what they do matters.
